Race report by Thomas Ek
This was the first race of the year for the MSEC series. Unfortunately, we got a big decrease of racers partly due to DHI being held the same weekend. We got pretty good attendance in the 17.5T Blinky class with 22 starting drivers but modified took a big hit and only got 4. The race was held in Ă–rebro RBC's semi-permanent track which is a smaller size track with low to medium grip. I participated in both the mod and the stock class trying to keep up the good flow from the double win in my last race.

During qualifications grip levels quickly came to a acceptable level and I managed to secure the TQ position in mod ahead of fellow XRAY drivers Marcus Söberg and Johannes Edrén. In stock the racing was more intense and I had to accept loosing TQ to Kristoffer Axelsson from Karlstad MR who was untuchable during qualifications. But at least he's an XRAY driver...

In the the first mod final I noticed during warmup that something was really wrong with the car since it did not turn well to the right.
Relaizing that I had my work cut out for me in this one to keep the other drivers behind me I expected a really close and intense race. After start Marcus wos on my tail instantly and I had to work really hard to keep him behind me during the heat. Some super close but friendly racing ending with us both coming out on the straight together and flooring it. Of course this got us to hook up and we both went of the track and into the wall. I got a bit more lucky then Marcus and my car stopped heading in the correct direction so I could continue driving instantly giving me a small gap to Marcus so I could cruize over the finish line.

I checked the car between the finals and as expected the setup was far from perfect. I put some time into fixing this and had a good feeling for the second final. After the start it was a bit easier to keep my distance to Marcus and I managed to secure a second win and by that the total win aswell.

During the third final I hit a marker sending me of track and managed to pop of one of the rear shocks forcing me to retire. This made Marcus sail round the track and setting the days fastest time. Well done Marcus!

In stock we had our work cut out for us with super close times and eight cars running on the small track. In the first final Kristoffer and I took off togehter but after a mistake by me Kristoffer cruized home an easy win.

Second final started similar but with a couple of cars together. I made some mistakes and also got caught up in some overtakes and only managed a third position but Kristoffer took another easy win and the total victory.

Feeling like I had to step up my game for the third final, me and Kristoffer took off and had a good race for about half the heat until I got caught up during overtakes of some other cars and Kristoffer again took of to secure an easy win. Big congrats to him for driving like a Boss during the entire day!!!

XRAY had a really great day securing the top 3 positions in mod and top 2 in stock.
